We're phasing out Facebook log in

1. Why is Basket removing Facebook authentication?

We are removing Facebook authentication to streamline our sign-in processes and reduce technical overhead. This change allows us to focus on enhancing the overall user experience and ensuring better security for all our users.

2. When will Facebook authentication be removed?

Facebook authentication will be discontinued on 13 August 2024. After this date, you will no longer be able to sign in using Facebook.

3. How do I continue accessing my account?

To continue accessing your Basket account, you need to switch to an email/password login or use an alternative authentication method such as Apple or Google. Here’s what you need to do:

Email/Password Login:
  • Step 1: Click on the Reset Password link.
  • Step 2: Follow the instructions to create a new password.
  • Step 3: Use your email and new password to log in to Basket.
Apple or Google Login:
  • On the login screen, select either the Apple or Google option and follow the prompts to sign in.

4. I received an email about resetting my password. Is this legitimate?

Yes, we have sent out emails to users who use Facebook authentication, providing them with a reset password link. This email is legitimate and necessary for you to transition to the new authentication method.

5. What should I do if I encounter issues during this process?

6. Can I delete my Facebook-linked account if I no longer want to use Basket?

If you prefer to delete your account instead of migrating it, please contact our support team at hello@trybasket.com for assistance with account deletion.

7. What happens if I don't take any action by 13 August 2024?

If you do not transition to an alternative authentication method by 13 August 2024, you will no longer be able to access your Basket account using Facebook. Please take the necessary steps as soon as possible to ensure uninterrupted access.
