Sharing Baskets

July 19, 2024

Whether you want to share a Christmas list with family or your top picks with followers, Basket was built with sharing in mind. You can create three types of baskets.

Private baskets

Private baskets are private to you. This is the default setting for any newly created baskets. Nobody else can see them or the products within them; therefore, nobody can edit them or add notes. Private baskets can't be found through searching, and you are the only person who can see them.

Public baskets

Public baskets are best when you want to share a list of products with others but do not allow them to add any of their items, delete things, add notes, or mark items as purchased. They are popular with content creators and in cases where the audience may be more like an extended social circle.

The people you share your Public basket link with need a Basket account to view it. They can then choose to ‘Follow’ the basket, where they’ll be notified if any new products are added.

Collab baskets

Collab baskets allow people you've invited to add, delete, and mark items as purchased. They are ideal for joint projects with friends and family, birthday and Christmas wishlists, and general projects where you need other people's input. People that you collab with need to have a Basket account. They’ll then be notified if any new products are added or marked as purchased, and you’ll be notified.

Sharing your baskets

You need to be aware of certain things when changing the basket type. Once you've created a public or collaborative basket, you'll want to share a link with people who want to follow your basket or collaborate with you. You can get this link by tapping the share button at the top of your basket screen and then sharing it on WhatsApp or another medium.
